I spoke with Paleo and he let me pick at his brain stem for a bit. This is what he had to say…..

Paleo was an art kid, one of those people that have been drawing as long as they can remember. He was so talented that at a young age he entered one of his drawings to an Art Correspondence schools you know, draw this turtle or pirate kind of things. Well back in the day it was actually run by REAL artists. Who ran it you may ask? How about Dorothy Parker? No? Not good enough? Does Norman Rockwell ring a bell? That’s right, the one and only Mr. Norman Rockwell was so impressed with Paleo that he actually wrote his parents and told them, “This kid HAS something.” Mr. Rockwell was actually willing to bend on the 16 year old age minimum age limit to get him in. Paleo John was only 14 at the time of his entry!

I don’t know about you, but I can honestly say that at 14 my Mother was the ONLY one who thought I had THAT kind of talent. Thanks Mom.

So what does one do with all of this talent? PAINT! And John is great at it. His landscape stuff is clear, precise and pristine. Clean lines with perfect color blends make you lose yourself in his works. But like all true artists, they always look for bigger and better things. What better than the universe of tattoos!

Paleo started making tattoo machines after meeting and being inspired by Tommy Senior from the world famous Tommy’s Tattoo Supply. And his machines were a hit. He sold them through Tattooz.net and STILL uses two of his hand built machines today. Although he is becoming more intrigued with rotary machines his ultimate goal is to be able to use a machine like he uses his paint brushes, with feeling and class. With Tommy’s own StarBrite inks, accompanied by some Eternal’s his tattoos come to life on his clients. With 13 years in the industry and a new gig at The Tattoo Company in Spring Hill Florida you can bet that he is here to stay.

Out of all the art projects he’s done throughout his years his love is tattooing. You only have to meet John once to realize why. He is a kind man with a great heart and a sense of humor to match. Interacting with his human canvases makes him the happiest man in the world and when you’re around him you can help but feel welcome.

If you would like to make Paleo John even happier, make an appointment and meet him yourself. You will not be disappointed with your piece and you will probably make a great new friend. http://www.paleojohn.com/
