Ryan Osborne

Tatshirts own Ryan Osborne, aka enrobso, has been drawing since the day he could hold a crayon, which is apparent when looking at his work.

Working out of Gorilla Tattoo in Bend Oregon, Ryan gets to showcase his unique style and judging by the client reviews on his MySpace page, http://www.myspace.com/osborneink, it sounds like he's as talented a person as he is an artist.

He has been a licensed tattoo artist for four years now after completing the mandatory courses and has been laying the ink on his satisfied clients ever since. With his Sobas, FK Irons and Texas Customs he creates works that come to life.

He has just begun to dive into the realm of painting and it seems he already has a firm handle on taming canvas. His bold colors and perception have what he refers to as New School Illustrative vibe. Pulling inspiration from such greats as Jime Litwalk, Tony Ciavarro and Jessie Smith, it's no wonder your eyes are drawn to his acrylics. You can not help but stop and examine his pieces. Watercolors have just entered the picture and oils aren't far behind.

Ryan is great guy and a hell of an artist so make sure to swing by his Myspace or facebook account and check out his latest creations!

Dave Tatum

Dave Tatum is a laid back, traditional kind of guy and has been in the art world for a LONG time. He began his career in graphic arts in 1977. His work is known worldwide and VERY well known in the Bronx and Albany NY. That's right baseball fans, Dave did the sign work in the outfield of the old Yankees Stadium, TWICE, and did the lettering at the Colonie Yankee Stadium! After years out in the elements painting signs and billboards he decided to refocus his artistic ability into tattoos. But like everything in life, there is a very intriguing story as to how the tattoo world came about for Dave.

He started his Tattoo career in 1991 after a very fateful meeting outside his house. There in the street was a biker kicking the hell out of his ride cause the thing broke down so Dave went out to be of assistance. The two became friends and fishing buddies.

Unbeknown to Dave the man he helped and became friends with was Dave "Zapp" Zappia (artist of the year at the 1982 world convention). Zapp tattooed Dave's ribs and the rest, as they say, his tattoo history! Dave then took on a four year apprenticeship under the teachings of Ed Nowiak Sr. where he learned "the business" inside and out. From tedious needle making to the technical applications of tattoo design, the all-important sterilization and cross contamination prevention and off course, customer service!

Dave is the proud owner of Sacred Art Tattoo Company in Latham NY where he tattoos and does the piercing.

Dave has awards and trophies for "Most Realistic", "Best female Sleeve", "Best Black and Grey", "Best Female Tattoo" among others. Dave is passionate about the art of tattooing and really gets to know his clients. He excels at black & Grey Portraits which he still uses his Antique Jonesy Machine to do and "traditional" tattoos pulling inspiration from the greats, Sailor Jerry, Cap Coleman, etc...

Please check Dave out by clicking any of the pictures featured, or stop by his shop! He is a great man and a great artist.

Jeff Ballance

Erase The Enemy. Sound familiar? They should and if they don't then you need to look them up! Hardcore at its finest and behind the guitar, shreddin' away and dropping massive breakdowns is one Mr. Jeff Ballance. Jeff has been playing up and down the East Coast for years and it looks like he's not planning on stopping any time soon.

So how did he end up here at Tatshirts.com? HE WON THE DESIGN CONTEST that's how!

Not only is Jeff a professional musician but he's quite the graphic artist as well! He started out just making designs for E.T.E. to save money. (typical band protocol, believe me, I've been there myself!) But when you're good, you're good and his work started to get noticed. Now he does designs for other bands, and the MMA. Yup. That would be the Mixed Martial Arts fighting league. Damn huh? I know!

I talked to Jeff a few days back and asked him about the art aspect of his creative existence and was pleasantly surprised by one of the people that he takes inspiration from. Tatshirts own $500 design contest winner, Chadlonius! See, the community really does work! Others that he looks to for a uplift? Godmachine, Hydro74, Maxx242 and PaleHorse Studios to name a few. Sounds like a great group to pull from!

His work starts on paper and then gets imported into Illustrator to clean up the lines and add some depth to his pieces. His attention to detail is awesome and I love his loose sketchy style. As you can see from his $500 winning design, Love and Life, bottom right, his eye for detail coupled with his free flowing lines makes for a marriage of eye popping boldness and details for days! I personally love this style and I look forward to seeing more from Jeff in the future.

You need to check out everything Jeff does cause it's all amazing and he is a great guy! You have three links to choose from so GET TO CLICKIN'!

One of Tatshirts.com main goals has always been to showcase artistic talent to a worldwide audience. The members we have are true fans of art, tattoos and have an eye for great work.

With that said, I would like to introduce you to one of our own, Yulonda Bader! Yulonda has been a member of Tatshirts for a long time and has posted more of her art than anyone else. She is a very free spirit and has a very unique eye when it comes to becoming one with a canvas. Her color schemes and of set designs take the mind on a beautiful journey with out the risk of being arrested for illegal substances!

She has two main loves in the art world. Portraits, which she does mainly in charcoal, and oils, in which she dives deep into her subconscious to produce works that would make Jim Morrison proud. Her style is all her own and when asked about where her talent stems from she replied, "I do not think that you can teach art, it's just inside you. People can teach you how to draw what other people have done, but only you can teach yourself."

Those are some wise words Yulonda.

Let me ask you a question. Where can someone go to get a in-depth, meaningful, amazingly precise, eternal tattoo from a multiple award winning artist who also has an award winning personality and won't make you feel like you just walked into chill chest? Give up?

MIND BOMB TATTOO and PIERCING THAT'S WHERE!
Owner/artist Joshua Wedzina has an outlook on tattooing that more "artists" should have. It should be creative, unique, customer approved, and ENJOYABLE.

A true visionary to this industry, Joshua is raising the bar to new heights. His revolutionary tattoo machine designs (website coming soon) will introduce people to new metals, new weights, better feel and a design process that rivals NASA. He has also been working on a new line of pigments that will absolutely blow your mind. Joshua is paving the way for a whole new twist on common tattoo ideals.

You want awards? I'll show you some awards. How about Oregon Ink 2009 Best Back Black and Grey, Oregon Ink 2009 Best Original 2nd Place, Ink Travelers tattoo & Piercing Convention 2009 Best of Black and Grey Back, Inkin' Lincoln Tattoo Jamboree 2000 Women's Medium 3rd Place, Inkin' Lincoln tattoo Jamboree 2000 Men's Black and Grey 1st Place. I would keep going but you get the idea. All this from an artist who rarely attends conventions, just imagine if he did!

Joshua was kind enough to take time out from his busy and creative schedule to talk with me a bit and let me pick his synapses.

A 15 year veteran to the industry, Joshua has been featured in many magazines, the latest of which being Ink Junkies Magazine, 2009, and pulls inspiration from some of the greats. Da Vinci, Michelangelo, Mark Ryden and Himself. The reason behind his self motivation? Joshua explained, "If you're not inspired to do your own thing, then what's the point?" You know why? CAUSE THE ART COMING OUT OF THIS SHOP IS INSANE THAT'S WHY!

Chad Chase (pictured below) has been slinging ink for five years now and his specialty is realism. And let me tell you fist hand, HE AIN'T KIDDING! This mans art is top notch.

His weapons of creation include Dano Collins and F.K. Irons tattoo machines and as far as the pigments he uses Fusion and Eternal Inks.

With his major influence being Joshua Carlton you know this man has some serious skills.

His newest and favorite piece is his hand which is a cover up in progress and is being inked by artist and owner Chad Chubbuck.

Please visit their site and take a look see, you will not be disappointed!

{jumi [templates/tatshirts_2010/html/com_content/category/back_link.php]}

So I was able to meet Mr. Doug "Buddha" Anderson up in Manchester New Hampshire and let me tell you first hand people, it would be hard to find a nicer man. We chatted off and on for two days and we finally got to sit down and get some questions answered. So here we go!

 Doug is the owner of Eternal Images Tattoos and has been in the tattoo world for over 10 years now. His layed back attitude and warm personality makes him very approachable and his knowledge of tattooing is well established. Some his influences are but not limited to Sailor Jerry, Mr. Lyle Tuttle and Poch.

 His favorite style is Japanese but his work is very diverse. From bold colors to black and grey, he can do it all. His best piece being a side portrait "lost soul" reaper and the colors were just insane.

 Doug uses Mickey Sharpz and Martini machines to create his masterpieces and with Alpha Premier inks to make them last.

 Check them out at www.eternalimages.net or swing by the shop located at 136 Main Street, Milford, MA.

 Tell'em Big Steve sent ya!

{jumi [templates/tatshirts_2010/html/com_content/category/back_link.php]}

Pumpkin Pete

Morbid Creations is the brain "child" of one Pumpkin Pete. He has been honing his craft for more than seven years now and he doesn't seem to be slowing any time soon. His speciality? Turning the beautiful into the morbidly beautiful! His sculpts are one of a kinds and the quality of them are second to none.

I have been lucky enough to run into Pete a couple times, once at the MassTattoo and Arts Convention and again up at Live Free and it was a pleasure to see him again! A great man and a great talent. The newest "family members" he brought to the show were some of the best I've seen thus far. My favorite? A "masked " baby that just blew my mind! The face is completely removable and what is underneath, well........You can use your imagination. (see photo bottom left)

Not only is Pete a great artistic mind, he is also the collector of some equally amazing tattoos. His favorite piece being a portrait of his dog Cannon, inked by Chad Chase of Venom Ink Tattoos up in Sanford ME.

Next time you see Pumkin Pete you tell him Big Steve sent ya but make sure you have some time to hang at his booth cause you're going to need it!

http://www.myspace.com/morbidcreations

{jumi [templates/tatshirts_2010/html/com_content/category/back_link.php]}
